Baby “R” ♥ San Diego Newborn Photographer

This session was so much fun all around!  Baby “R” was perfect, tiny peanut who loved to smile.  Mom brought the adorable owl hat so we busted out the nest and Little Miss “R” complied willingly with our whims.  The middle picture of her sleeping on dad’s arm has to be about the best I’ve ever done that shot.  A totally sleepy and content baby is the ONLY way to really do that one.  :)

Special thanks to Bailey Goodwin who was home on her college spring break and helped me out on this shoot.  I could get used to having an extra set of hands around the studio!

Still more of the Baby Girl boom to post but it looks like next week is shaping up to be busy with newborns again!

I LOVE the nest photo. Such a sweet baby and yes, the daddy’s arm picture is fantastic!

Hunger Games Anyone??? ♥ San Diego Cool Mom Photographer

Some of you may or may not know that I also own THEStudioSD.  I recently started this business to photograph High School Seniors because my daughter and all of her friends are approaching that age.  It’s just getting started and is something that I like to do occasionally.  Babies will always be my first love.  Plus… let’s be honest… a baby doesn’t complain about being fat (when they are a size “0″) or how their hair looks!

That said, my daughter has some of the coolest kids ever for friends.  A lot of them are musical theatre students at the Coronado School of the Arts when my daughter goes to school.  ALL of them are obsessed with The Hunger Games and have managed to get me all caught up in the obsession as well.  I read all three books in less than a week!  While I won’t be standing in line at midnight this Friday morning, I will be going Friday evening to see the movie.  So, when the kids approached me with the idea of photographing them to look like some of the movie promo pictures I was IN!  You can see the original posters HERE.

So… just for fun on this rainy Monday and for all you Hunger Games fans… here are some images from our Hunger Games inspired shoot!  My daughter is the last one.  ;)  And this is how I get to be the “cool mom”.  At least for a few days!

Baby “A” ♥ San Diego Newborn Photographer

Well, this has been a total Baby Girl week at Just Hatched Photography!  In one week I have photographed 4 newborn little girls.  It totally seems to run in cycles and lately we are definitely in the “pink” around here.

This is Baby “A” and at only 5 days old she was a little peanut.  While she did do sleepy baby in the beginning, you can see that even at only 5 days old she was very curious and bright eyed!

More babies to come over the weekend… stay tuned!

She is absolutely precious! What a little doll. Gorgeous photography, as always.

Double your fun! ♥ San Diego Twin Photographer

So hard to believe E&E are 9 months old already!  I’ve had the honor of photographing this family for the past 5 years and it’s always fun.  This time included angel wings that Grandma brought for her little angels.  I seriously don’t know how all this time passes because I’m certainly not getting any older… cough* cough*.  :)

Seriously LOVE those headbands!

Newborn Sneak Peek! – San Diego Newborn Photographer

OK, I’m pretty sure this has NEVER happened.  Baby Jack came in for his newborn session and was already sleepy so we began.  During the course of the entire session (about TWO hours).  He never pooped, peed or needed to eat AND he stayed asleep just about the whole time.  He got a bit fussy at the end, but he gutted it out with the promise of a big snack if he could just give me ten more minutes.  Seriously… he went back to sleep!  I was amazed.  Even after all these years it never gets old and there are always new challenges or new “firsts”.  :)

So, here is Baby Jack’s sneak peek… so hard to pick just five!

:)Melissa

Daddy is a Tar Heel (what IS that anyway???) so you know Carolina Blue was going to have to be a part of the session!  Also love his little Elvis lip on the bottom left!

I never get tired of watching the beginning of new families.  The way new moms and dads look at their new baby… love it!

I don’t know what a Tarheel is, either. But, that is a darling baby!
